This is a special spooky edition of What’s Up Elk - think of it as an ultimate guide to the best Elk County Halloween events that are happening between October 20-26. I will publishing be one more next Thursday, October 24 that will cover the rest of the Halloween season.

👟Get your bones 💀 out to the TRICK OR TRAIL 12K/6K RUN OR 2-MILE SPOOKY WALK on Sunday, October 20 at 1 PM. The event is a fundraiser to add more trails to the Laurel Mill Ski Trails and to keep them open. The cost is $30. Costumes are encouraged!
Race day registration includes:
finisher awards (12K/6K run)
awards for first overall male and female, for each distance (12K/6K run)
a chance at 20+ door prizes
food after the race
a free treat bag for all registered kids 12 and under

🎃 How knowledgable are you about all-things Halloween? If you think you know a thing or two, you should sign up for Straub’s HALLOWEEN TRIVIA night on Thursday, October 24 at 6 PM. Register your team of 2-5 people by contacting Bekka via text at 814-512-8188.

As if getting purposely lost in a field of corn wasn’t scary enough .. now you can go to a CREEPY CORN MAZE on Friday, October 25 from 7-9 PM. There will be a bonfire and hayrides. The cost is $7 per person.

👹 Quick - Think of a Halloween song. I guarantee that at least a few of you thought of 🎶 Monster Mash 🎶 - C’mon, admit it. It’s a great jam! Want to go to a real life MONSTER MASH? Benezette Wines is having one on Saturday, October 26 from 10 AM - 8 PM. There will be:

kids juice tasting with goodie bags

🧌 Do you know what the Squonk, the Giwoggle, the Bryn Athyn Beast, the Waterford Sheepman and Raystown Ray have in common? They’re all PENNSYLVANIA CRYPTIDS— animals that supposedly existed although there is no definitive proof. Intrigued? Stop by the Elk Country Visitor Center on Saturday, October 26 at 5 PM to learn more about these creatures, all while sipping homemade apple cider around the fireplace🔥!

🧟 I don’t know about you, but to me HORROR SLAM sounds like the most Halloween-ish name for an event that you could come up with. It’s presented by Asylum Pro Wrestling and is happening at the Makers Warehouse on Saturday, October 26 at 5:30 PM (doors open - bell time is at 7 PM.) Tickets cost $25 (front row) or $20 (general admission).
