I have a confession to make: This newsletter takes me about 15-20 hours to create. In coffee math, that equates to about 7.5 pots of brewed coffee and 14 Nespresso pods. And this is just the coffee I drink while I’m writing. I also have a cup after my kids go to sleep just to stay awake long enough to watch an episode of American Horror Story (I’m watching the new one with Kim Kardashian — it’s decent: I’d give it 3.5/5 stars, so far) before I fall asleep on the couch, just to wake up at 5 AM and start the cycle all over again. It’s a problem, but one I’m willing to live with. I’m not complaining — I love every minute of it!
I even love the act of making a cup of coffee. Sometimes I catch myself wanting to brew one just for the simple joy of it. I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way — do I need to get help?
I bond with people over coffee, which is why I’d love to share a coffee with you this week in spirit! Although I can’t meet with all of you, your support means the world to me.
If this newsletter has helped you discover something fun to do or made your week a little brighter, consider buying me a coffee! Your support not only fuels my coffee habit but also ensures that What's Up Elk continues to bring you the best local events and Elk County happenings.
Thank you for being a part of this community—I’m excited to keep sharing and discovering all the amazing things Elk County has to offer together!
🚴🔧 Jason Armagost of Mudbear’s Bikes and Boards will be teaching simple BIKE REPAIRS at the St. Marys Public Library on Wednesday, October 9 from 3:30-4:30 PM. This event is geared more towards middle school kids, but all ages are welcome to attend. FREE. — 📍127 Center Street, St. Marys
📖🌿 I mentioned this event to you last week, but the day is finally here: There will be an unveiling of the Ridgway Public Library Story Walk on October 12 at 11 AM and you are invited to take part with your family. An interactive experience, it will be a permanent installation featuring 18 stops all within the first mile of the Clarion-Little Toby Creek Trail. Each family in attendance will receive a free book. The event will also include a Family Story Time where children will walk and hear their first story —“Tidy” by Emily Gravett — and then make nature journals to help commemorate the event. — 📍First Mile of Clarion-Little Toby Creek Trail
